This past President’s Day weekend brought gloomy weather, Long Beach Comic Expo, and some strange things to Southern California. Long Beach Comic Expo is a two-day annual event held at the Long Beach Convention Center. It’s a celebration of comic books and pop culture. The event showcases talented writers, artists, illustrators and creators of all types of pop culture.

The Nerd Out Booth

Team Nerd Out attended LBCE as an exhibitor, spreading the word about Nerd Out App and the Nerd Community we showcase. To visitors who stopped by our booth we were giving away awesome Doctor Strange swag as well raffling off an amazing basket of geeky goodies. Visitors took selfies with the Doctor himself! If you haven’t already, make sure to enter into our #StrangeNerd giveaway for a chance to win a  Blu-ray™ combo pack!

A Family Friendly Event

Long Beach Comic Expo proved to be a family friendly event. There was Laser Tag from the good folks at Party Xtreme Laser Tag & Gaming to an amazing exhibit from the team at The Space Expo. The folks at the Space expo brought families great ways to connect space exploration, science discoveries, movies, comic books, sci-fi and pop culture. It was also an excellent place to hang out with friends and take photos.

Meet the Khal

Actor Jason Mamoa, known for his roles in Conan the Barbarian, Game of Thrones, and as Aquaman in the upcoming Justice League movie attended on Saturday. He was available for autographs and photos! He was also seen walking around the convention paying a special visit to the Girls Scout booth.

Cosplayers on the Event Floor

The staple of every comic convention is the great cosplay that can be seen as visitors walk the floor of the convention. There was quite the collection this past weekend! Everything from Spiderman to Jack Sparrow to Miss Piggy!
